About the class

Hello, I'm Han Lee Joon, a docent who is the 10th year exhibition commentator. “Docent” plays a role in narrowing the distance between the work of art and the viewer so that visitors can meet them in close proximity. In my class, I'll share all my questions about “docent,” a job that has been attracting attention in the art world recently.

I'll tell you everything from the role of a good docent in an exhibition hall, the preparation process for exhibition commentaries, and practical commentary tips from professional docents to the road map for becoming a docent as well as important self-branding methods for surviving as a freelance docent. For students who are interested in art even if they don't dream of being a docent, I'll also show you how to enjoy the exhibition even more so that the museum feels like a playground.

The class included over 1000 exhibition commentary experiences at over 30 exhibitions over the past 10 years. I will share not only my own exhibition commentary know-how gained through a long period of practical experience, but also industry stories that cannot be heard anywhere else. I'll also teach you important self-branding methods and the process of creating your own character in order to survive as a freelance docent for a long time. We will also provide consulting services for those who dream of becoming a docent or working in the art industry.
