What makes this class special

❶ Monoline lettering to learn the basics of typefaces

Over the years, I've introduced a lot of fonts in calligraphy. Among them, this font, which uses a “monoline” with no change in thickness in a round font, is my signature. Monoline lettering, which you'll learn with me, was introduced in 9Gag as a typeface that is easier to learn and has various effects, and reached 9.6 million views. In class, you can learn monoline lettering created based on authentic handwriting and both lowercase and uppercase letters reinterpreted to match Korean sentiment.

❷ Modern calligraphy for free expression

Modern calligraphy has similar rules to monoline lettering, so it's a great typeface to practice following monoline. The point of this typeface is a rhythmic change in thickness. In particular, monoline lettering and modern calligraphy are great fonts for beginners to start. I thought a lot about how to make it easier for students to learn, and I came up with the same curriculum as the current one. For example, it's like learning the rules of the alphabet separately.

❸ Providing lesson materials for easy calligraphy practice

I'll provide my new digital calligraphy textbook, lettering textbook, and workbook for the class, and I'll also provide a workbook where you can practice anytime with a marker or dip pen. I'll also give you the 10 custom brushes I use the most. Students can easily practice writing by simply printing the workbook and opening the file.

❹ A collaboration between English calligraphy and photography

I'll also try the practice of making beautiful works on the iPad and decorating social media right away! By working directly on a photo, you can learn Procreate effects that will enrich the typefaces you've learned through practice. Decorate your profile picture or travel photo in a different way with the effects you've learned this way!
