About the class

We'll show you all the steps required for mixing from beginning to end.

In my lecture, I will tell you not only how I used the plug-in, but also “why” I used it that way. We'll show you the steps required from the beginning to completion of a song in great detail over a period of over 5 hours, so you can learn everything you need for a higher level of perfection.

Course effect

  • Create a depth of sound so that the sound does not get crushed even at high sound pressure
  • Learn how to raise and lower the sound not only left and right, but also up and down
  • ITB mixing method to increase sound pressure
  • How to mix vocals that break through MR

Recommended target

  • Writers and arrangers who want to sell finished demo songs
  • People who want to become audio engineers
  • People who want to create and distribute high-resolution sound sources through home recording

Pre-course notes

  • This course is for intermediate students. If you are new to mixing, this lesson may be very difficult. I recommend it to those who have experience using basic mixing plug-ins such as EQ and compressors.

2 reasons why this class is special

All the know-how for 230 million views in one class!

I've been thinking about sound for a very long time, starting with home recording, starting with the release of my first album in 2010 until I got a job as a sound director at my former job at MCN. I've been watching so many online courses since I was a beginner, and I found a problem where the content was usually too easy to handle or couldn't be applied to my songs. So when I got to know Mix a little bit, I decided to create a course that could really help people who are experiencing the same problems as me.

The course was created with great care, incorporating all the content and know-how that went into reaching 230 million views.

I know that due to the proliferation of online classes, there was a lot of negative perception of mixing online classes. Therefore, I thought and created it over a long period of time to create a course that is more different from prejudice and actually helps many people.

The first production intention of this course is to enable many people working in the music industry to better express the music they want. I hope it helps many musicians and those who are preparing to become engineers.

Mixing techniques using Q base

Qbase is a very versatile tool. Some DAWs specialize in sound, and others specialize in sequencing, but I think Q Bass is a really versatile tool that doesn't skew into any one part.

I think it's not easy for composers using Q Base to move to Pro Tool and mix, so I will conduct a mixing course using Q Base so that they can finish mixing and mastering within Qbase and immediately write the finished version to sell or release demo songs.

[Q&A]

Q> What's the difference from other mixing courses?

A> My lectures are very in-depth, with just one song, without covering them in a few short sections. I'll show you all the steps required to make a sound source, from creating a project for the mix, completing the mastering, and selecting the finished version, right in front of you.

Q> What can I learn after taking this class?

A> You'll learn how to move a sound up and down, left and right, back and forth. Make sure you create the back and forth (depth) of the sound so that the sound does not collapse even if you raise the sound pressure a lot during mastering.

If you do a bit of mixing/mastering, you'll know that increasing sound pressure requires a lot of technology. It's easy to make it sound clean at a small volume, but it takes a lot of technology to keep the mix from falling apart at a large volume. I'll teach you all the ways to increase sound pressure through lectures, so I'm sure that learning through my lectures will be of great help to you as you work on music in the future.

Q> Is it OK to pick only the parts I want?

A> There's no problem choosing and using only the parts you need after watching all of my lectures. However, in the lecture, all topics are carried out sequentially and all processes are organically linked, so if you skip one part, it may be difficult for you to properly understand the concept I want to tell you. If you don't have time, you can watch at double speed, so be sure to watch the entire lecture in sequence! I'm sure if you're stubborn, you'll learn a lot.

Q> Is it OK for me to use a DAW other than Qbase?

A> Although mixing is done using a queue base in this course, this is not a course for learning how to use a cube base, it is a course for learning how to mix music. The plug-ins used in the course are third-party plug-ins that can also be used in other DAWs such as Fabfilter and Waves, so even if you use a DAW other than Qbase, you can fully apply them to your songs!

Q> Is it different from YouTube content?

A> On YouTube, hobbyists are included in the viewing target group, so the content is easy to follow, even for first-time users. The lessons taught in Class 101 are intermediate/advanced courses and cover much more in-depth topics.

Q> Can you tell me the recording chain of the song used as an example?

A> Neumann U87Ai (microphone) - Recorded via Ams Neve 1073DPA (mic preamp) - Warm Audio WA-2A (compressor)

Q> Do you offer multiple tracks?

A> This course does not offer multiple tracks. However, the part explained in the lecture is explained so that it can be applied to every song that many people are working on. So even if you don't work on the same song as me, you can apply the methods I've taught you directly to other songs.
