Q. What does beauty mean to you?

Beauty and every change in your life start from believing in yourself. I want to share this simple truth with those who attend this class. I want to tell you how knowing and believing in yourself are the keys to great success. There was a 17-year-old girl who had nothing, went through some tough times yet, she became a star makeup artist and leader of K-beauty. That is not some miracle which only happened to me.

Q. What is a makeup artist?

One of the things I have learned while working as a makeup artist for the last 30-years is that this profession cannot be defined in just a few words. They are not just people who apply makeup to make you look pretty. It's not that simple. They can be creators, consultants, technicians, and staff.

Q. Do you have any advice for people thinking about studying abroad?

Basically, I am all for studying abroad regardless of what age you are. However, you have to figure out whether it's for building a foundation so you can take your career to the next level or just being tired of your job and looking for another way. If the latter is the case, I will say no. If you haven't found the answer in Korea, you won't find it anywhere else. But if you have done your best, earned people's trust, and there is something you can do when you come back, I am going to say go ahead. I studied abroad for 4 and a half year, and there is no regret at all.

Q. Why do you constantly share your expertise? Aren't they the secret to your success?

Frankly, it's not like I don't have fear. But what's surprising is that whenever I share my knowledge, I get new ideas. I realized that to acquire something new, you have to let go of an old one. If you hold onto too many things, you can't get anything new. That is why I will continue to update my expertise and try to share it with you.
