Suggestions for English beginners and experts alike

My main readers were people who are new to English, or people who are talented in both extreme groups who teach learning English and other foreign languages. For this reason, this course is the result of thinking about how to encompass that extreme. I tried to include how to express sound in letters or how to teach foreign languages or Korean as a guide.

Hunminjeong-um had a solution for capturing sounds in letters and being able to express different sounds differently by recognizing those letters. And I've been on that path my whole life. King Sejong prepared a way to properly express sound without damaging the body, such as surgery to stretch the tongue. That's probably why I was confident that I could express all the sounds in the world.

1. For foreign language experts and those dreaming of educating children

Let's think of teaching a foreign language to children. Inevitably, while teaching English, I will have them write the alphabet and express it in current Hangul to teach it. If you express it in Korean like that, you will experience a different result from the actual sound. The problem is that the alphabet is written horizontally, and you will face the fact that our sound is a unit of breathing, and that it is not suitable for expressing sounds that are not in our language. Also, in writing foreign words in the current Korean language, the method applied the Japanese spelling principles of the Japanese occupation period, so there would be no choice but to express one breath (1 syllable) by extending one breath (1 syllable) to two breaths (2 syllables) or 3 syllables so as not to match sound breathing.

I definitely thought that if I could solve that problem, develop a letter that matches the original sound, and write it for that sound, for example, if I could write sounds such as f, v, th, and z, I would be able to express sounds that are not in Korean. Also, you will definitely come to the conclusion that it would be nice if foreign words were written in letters according to the breathing unit of sound.

Your feelings were captured in “Go Je-yoon's Letter” using Hoon Minjeong-eum. It is a method to capture parts that are lacking in the alphabet, and the structure of sound breathing that is difficult to express with phonetic symbols alone. The experts understood that it would definitely work in guiding and educating children, and they tried to suggest ways to do it. Your abilities will enable you to quickly understand and apply the principles I suggest.

2. For English beginners and learners

How to express different sounds differently is an important first step in reading letter symbols. This is why King Sejong represented sound letters when creating Hoon Minjeong-um. Foreigners can't easily tell the Korean words “foot, arm, suck.” This is because we sound different, but their language structure or sound structure has no way of distinguishing these sounds. Conversely, it is difficult for us to distinguish between f and p, b and v, and s and z when learning foreign languages. By the way, Japanese people can't tell the difference between the Korean words and the f sound in English.

There are sounds that cannot be heard at all in such a unique language, and sounds that cannot be distinguished. King Sejong captured the solution to this problem in Hunminjeong-um. The alphabet is not a method of expressing sound units. This is why in order for Koreans to understand languages that use the alphabet, a conversion process tailored to sound breathing is necessary.

You probably won't be able to become a foreign language translator right away after taking this course. Languages can sometimes take years of adaptation. However, if you clearly understand the basic principles and expression methods of sound, and if you distinguish and recognize those sounds as letters, you can have a dramatic effect on learning efficiency. If you know what that sound is, you will be able to confidently imitate it and express it with confidence. I recommend starting with Hoon Minjeong-um, who thinks the most scientific letter principle in the world.
