McKinsey Way of Thinking and Technique - Pyramid Structure & Mock-up Package Course

Establish a logical framework and design the document's output first.

If you look at the curriculum of this course

You might think it's a bit unusual.

Why is it a document writing process

Pyramid Structure and Mock-up Package

Is it dealing with this much?

Actually, this process

Of the 12 chapters excluding the introduction chapter

9 chapters with Pyramid Structure

I'm devoting it to a mock-up package.

On the other hand, 1 paper is a chapter,

The Visual Chart has two Chapters.

Why was it structured like this?

What's more interesting

Pyramid Structure and Mock-up Package

It means it's not visible in the finished document.

When I get the final report

What we see is a head message and a sentence,

These are tables, graphs, and shapes.

If so, it's not even visible in the final document

Pyramid Structure and Mock-up Package

Why is learning so important?

To understand why

How to proceed with a project in the McKinsey style

You need to see it first.

In the McKinsey approach

As soon as I started the project, I collected materials,

Like creating a report after the analysis is over

It's not working.

First, structure the problem

Hypothesize what conclusions should be reached.

And through Pyramid Structure

Creates the framework for the overall logic.

We're going one step further from here.

When the project is over

What kind of report should be issued

Preview it as a mock-up package.

The analysis is not finished yet.

Necessary facts and data

Not all of them have been secured.

Nevertheless, thinking about the story of the final report,

Open the required page.

On each page

What kind of head message to be delivered,

To prove that message

what should be analyzed,

What facts and data are needed,

Whether to show the analysis results in a table,

Even if you want to show it as a graph

Design ahead of time.

Draw the output like this first

By verifying and filling that output

It's about working on a project.

So the mock-up package

It's not just a draft report.

At the beginning of the project

This is the blueprint for the final output.

While the project is in progress

Shows what has been analyzed and what is left

It serves as a guide and checklist for the project.

When multiple people work together

Shows who will be responsible for what analysis and page

It's also a standard for collaboration.

And as the analysis progressed

The blank chart is filled with actual facts and data,

Head Message, which was written as a hypothesis

It is modified according to the results of the analysis.

While continuing to verify and revise

The mock-up package I drew at the beginning

It gradually turns into an actual report.

At the end of the day, when the project ends

The mock-up package is completed as a final package report.

So in this course

Mock-up package with only one technique

I'm not going to be brief.

Understand the Mock-up Package itself,

Learn blank charts and head messages,

To design the output for each page

Learn by linking tables and graphs.

Tables and graphs too

It's not just about learning with techniques that make you look good.

From the stage of drawing a blank chart

“What kind of output does this message look like

Shall I show it?”

It's about learning as a tool for thinking.

And when the output design is finished

The point of view is different.

Now I'm not in the position of the creator

I think from the viewer's point of view.

How can I read it at a glance,

What should I emphasize,

Take a look at how to simplify,

Use shapes to create complex content

You'll even learn how to show things more intuitively.

After all, at the center of this process

I have two questions:

What are you going to say?

Build the framework for logic with Pyramid Structure.

What kind of document will it be shown in?

Design the output first as a mock-up package.

1 Paper and Visual Chart

The logic and output designed that way

This is a method of implementing it as a real document.

So this process

Simply how to write a good report or

It's not a process of learning how to make a good PowerPoint.

Design logic before writing a document,

Design the output before analysis,

While verifying and filling that output

This is a course where you learn how to complete a final package report.

This is exactly what this course covers

Pyramid Structure & Mock-up Package,

It's McKinzie style document planning and writing.
