Three reasons why this class is special

❶ Practical curriculum that efficiently includes only core skills

Background artists often have to compose the overall scene by themselves, starting with modeling small piles and props. That's why it's important to gain overall knowledge about each course. The practitioner's entire background creation process, from modeling → texturing → environment setdressing → lighting → rendering, was structured as a detailed 8-step process.

Through a structured curriculum, you can study workflows and know-how that you couldn't learn in free courses and upgrade your overall skills. Also, features that may be confusing are provided in neatly organized guide images.

❷ Learn the texturing process with a step-by-step approach

Substance Painter is a tool that has the advantage of being able to create photorealistic textures easily and effortlessly, but it can be difficult for beginners beginning to learn on their own. In this class, we have prepared a curriculum that starts with understanding the basics of tools so that you can naturally improve your skills.

Instead of starting texturing randomly, you can work more efficiently by learning how to take a step-by-step approach to texturing. Anyone who follows my class can quickly and easily create great photorealistic textures. Also, a file summarizing the production process for each step is provided, so you'll be able to learn more easily!

❸ Use a variety of assets

Know-how of a practitioner who controls a scene

스캔 데이터를 마야에서 어떻게 활용하는지도 알려드립니다.

There are many ways to get high quality assets. As a result, the ability to control scenes using various sources has become very important; people who are not familiar with 3D may find it difficult to incorporate downloaded assets into their work because they don't know how to do it. seen In the lecture, I will also teach you in detail how to use scan data. We've meticulously included the basic principles so that anyone can take the course and develop the ability to handle assets, sources, and even scenes that combine all of these.

If you have strong basic skills, you will feel confident when you move on to the next step. After understanding the process of expressing details while creating each one yourself, you'll feel confident no matter what kind of asset you work on.

❹ Crossing various industries, including movies, dramas, and games

3D World Artist Kim Min-sun's Workflow Revealed

▲ Kim Min-sun's Portfolio - Drama <Sisips>

As the most active artist in industries that require 3D video projects (video, drama, games, animation, etc.), I have included all the tips for use at the forefront of practice. Regardless of the industry, I'll tell you the skills you need to become an indispensable core member of a team. We will reveal all the workflows that make use of the details so that texturing looks like a 3D scan can be done.

Mingdo

Hello,

I'm Mingdo Kim Min-sun, a world artist!

I have participated in various 3D video projects such as movies, animations, and games for many years, and have given lectures to students at universities.

I think background creation is similar to cooking or architecture where various ingredients are taken, blended, and built up. As we deal with a lot of data, it's essential to understand how assets, which are materials, are created. This class has the advantage of being able to go through the basic workflow before creating a large environmental scene. After understanding the process of expressing details while creating each asset yourself, you will feel confident that you can freely handle any material that comes into your hands. 💪

I hope this class will be a small stepping stone for you. 🌱

Q&A with Mingdo

Q. Why did you start this work?

As the OTT and game markets grow, demand for background artists is also increasing, but I feel that there is a limit for beginners to learn professionally due to fragmented information. I wanted to quench that thirst for many people through this class.

Q. Is there anyone in particular who would like to recommend this class?

I would recommend it to students who want to get a job in the game and film industry, those preparing related portfolios, and anyone who wants to strengthen their basic skills, starting with understanding 3D principles.

Q. After taking this class, how can I use it?

There are many ways to get assets, but in the end, in order to handle that data, you must have basic skills. By systematically learning the basic skills required for 3D background artists, you will feel confident when creating high-quality scenes later.
