Centuries ago, those who grew up fiercely trading spices on land and sea

I set out in search of another world, and finally, I discovered a new continent.

In the New World, you must get help from indigenous people, use tools, and hire new workers to get as much corn, meat, tobacco leaves, and fur as you need.

Open up a new continent by efficiently deploying a limited number of workers!

  2. Place bonus tiles and exploration tiles in the appropriate slots.
  3. Take the player board one by one, and take 6 of your workers' horses.
  4. You'll receive starting resources based on the order you play.

Game progress

[When it's your turn, you can only do one of the following: work or rest.]

Work: Post a comment from a worker

Place as many workers' horses as indicated in the place. If there is already another player's worker in that place, you should place one more worker than the number of workers that are in place. In this case, the original worker's words go back to the owner.

Working: Using the Places feature

The worker leaves his horse and immediately uses the location's features.

(1) Production : Receive the displayed resource cube

(2) upgrade : Upgrade the resources in your vault as many as indicated.

(3) Trade : Exchange the corresponding resource in your vault for the displayed resource.

(4) The town : Open resource cubes and get points cards and bonus tiles.

(5) Point card : Every victory card shows points, features, and one of the four icons. Depending on the card's function, fewer workers may be needed in a specific location, more resource cubes may be obtained during production, more new workers may be added, or exploration tiles may be obtained.

(6) Exploration tiles : Players who get an exploration tile immediately take the desired tile from the exploration tiles placed on the game board and receive the bonus displayed on that tile. And those places that no longer have exploration tiles can now be used by everyone.

(7) Bonus tiles : If you place a worker's horse on a town location, you can also get bonus tiles in addition to points cards. At the end of the game, you get additional points for meeting the conditions listed on the bonus tile. If you want to get a high score, you should consider not only the points written on your points card, but also the additional points.

(8) Take a break : Collect all of your workers and bring them to your player's board. No other action can be taken.

End of game

If someone collects 8 points cards, advance to that round, the game ends, and the person with the most points wins.

Billionaires' venture investment wars,

Venture Angels!

Let's start Venture Angels, a private bidding game where people fight fiercely to become the best investors.

Is the investment chip that the opponent just placed “0 or 3?”

“If I invest in events, will other people invest?”

No matter how much you think about it, you won't know the definitive answer until you open the chip.

Understand your opponent's tendencies and become the best investor in Venture Angels, which goes back and forth between advanced psychological warfare!

HOW TO PLAY?

Game ready

  1. Mix the venture tiles well and form them into a single pile.
  2. Take 1 player token and take 5 investment chips of the same color.

  2. bubble investment : The venture tile with the highest total number of investment chips turned out to be a false investment and failed!
  3. successes : All investments were successful except for the above two cases!

Get the Venture tile

Among those who bid for a successful venture tile, the person with the highest sum of investment chips takes that venture tile. If multiple people have the highest sum of investment chips, the first person to bid takes the venture tile.

Which venture should I choose?

Starting from round 2, you will publicly bid on investment chips for as many venture tiles as you have earned.

“Refrain from winning players!”

End of game and calculation of points

After 3 rounds, the game ends. For each color of your venture tile, add the score of the tile with the highest score. After that, the remaining tiles are calculated as 1 point per tile. Whoever has the highest total score wins!

8. Cartographers Board Game

As an example of a game that uses a drawing mechanism, this is a board game with additional components recommended by creator Gary.

As cartographers explore new regions, they put what they see on a map.

You set out on an expedition to uncharted land, to become the best cartographer among them. Grab your pencil and set out to draw a map!

The perfect map

Let it be born!

There are rivers with clear water, forests and farms rich in fruit, but monsters also appear everywhere.

You must place all of these things in the most reasonable way on a limited map to create a perfect map. The conditions for receiving good reviews vary from season to season.

HOW TO PLAY?

Game progress

[The game is played over four seasons, and points are calculated at the end of each season. Repeat the following sequence for one season.]

(1) Exploration stage : Draw the top card from the exploration card pile and unfold it.

(2) Drawing steps : Each player must select the area and shape shown on the exploration card that unfolded this time one by one and draw them at possible positions in the empty space of their own map. At this time, you can rotate or reverse the selected shape.

Monster Attack

When the raid card is unfolded, each player immediately hands over their map to the person next to them in the direction of the arrow shown on the card. On the map you received, draw a monster as shown on the raid card. After that, the raid card is removed from the game.

(3) Confirmation steps : Repeat the previous process until the sum of the hours written on the exploration cards that have been revealed so far is equal to or greater than the length of the season shown on the current season card. If the sum of the hours is greater than or equal to the length of the season, the season ends and the score is calculated.

Calculation of points and end of the game

For each season, two edicts are applied to calculate points.

Now that spring is over, scores are calculated according to the A and B edicts.

Using the same method, progress through spring, summer, fall, and winter, and the game ends.

Interviews

Q. What led you to create classes?

There are more and more people enjoying board games in Korea, but there are still very few people who make board games. What I've felt over the past 10 years of making my own board games and sharing my work is that anyone can make board games. I hope that the board game culture in Korea will become more mature as more people enjoy the joy of this creation and that there are more good works. People who were interested in board games through this course didn't just enjoy board games, but asked, “Shall I make one too?” I hope it motivates you to do it.

Q. Is there anything you would like to tell the students?

Anyone can create and release board games, whether as a hobby or as a side job, even if they're not a full-time writer. I hope you all enjoy the pride and joy of seeing your work come to the world in real life.
