Skills You’ll Learn
I'm Hye Kang, who paints digital Korean paintings that reinterpret traditional materials.
I majored in Korean painting, and until now I mainly work on digital illustrations using tablets and iPads, and I am also working on Korean painting in parallel.
In addition to personal work, he collaborates with various companies such as movies, dramas, and publishing, and drew famous scenes from the Mr. Sunshine drama in 2018 “Mr. Sunshine Coloring Book”has been published.
Recently, I have set up a studio in Seogyo-dong and have a Korean painting class together. What are the online classes in class 101 'Drawing Korean Paintings on Tablets, Hyekang's Digital Paintings of Korean' Since SecondIt's.
Originally, I mainly used tablets and Photoshop when working. Since I bought the iPad, I've been doing most of the work with the iPad Pro Create app, from outsourced work to personal work.
“Procreate” is an app optimized for illustrations and drawings, so the work done with the Procreate app is as good as the work on a PC. Rather, for those who are new to drawing or trying digital work for the first time, iPad Pro Create is much easier and more convenient to use.
In fact, I recently held the “iPad Korean Painting One Day Class” offline. Not only adults, but also elementary school children followed me better than I thought for a short time of 2 to 2 and a half hours, so it's not difficult for beginners to do it.
I wanted to learn Korean painting, but were you burdened with material costs?
When I started digital work, the way I used to draw Korean paintings naturally became integrated into my digital work, and I got my current work style.
For those who are interested in Korean painting using my digital Korean painting skills and the knowledge I learned when I majored in Korean painting, but have trouble taking offline classes due to various reasons Traditional coloringI'm going to show you how to express it easily on an iPad:)
Traditional color-style painting
Among Korean paintings, depending on the material, I can divide them into two painting methods: ink painting, which is a joke of food, and coloring, which is drawn with powdered pigments. Among them, most of the folktales we commonly know are painted in color.
In this iPad class, among Korean paintings Traditional coloringI will talk about how to express, and I will also talk about folktales and portraits drawn in a colorful manner in the middle of the class.
From pre-work to coloring,
From gradation techniques in Korean painting to how to create the feeling of “barim”
I'll show you the cozy and warm feeling of Hanji, which is subtly built up, and the coloring know-how. I'll also give you my own tips on how to express the feeling of 'barim', which is a gradation technique in Korean painting, in digital work:)
Various ways to express objects in Korean paintings that are different from Western paintings
In the West, the way to express an object in a flat picture is slightly different from the East in many ways, such as perspective, depiction method, and contrast.
I'll show you the details of how the way to express natural objects, landscapes, and people differs from Western painting.
Various designs for each chapter and Hyekang's Korean painting brushes are provided
For those who are still afraid and burdened with drawing from sketches, I will provide a sketch design as a lesson material for each chapter.
In addition, I also provide my own custom brushes free of charge only to students.
How to tell your own story
Finally, I'll tell you how to capture your own story when drawing your own creative picture, and how to build your own worldview.
We have prepared a variety of things so that even beginners can learn painting in an easy and fun way, so please look forward to it.
I'll meet you in class:D
