Have you ever played Minecraft called 21st Century LEGO (LEGO)? If your child is in elementary school and you don't know what Minecraft is, you're abandoning your job as a parent.

Minecraft is a multiplayer game where you create an entire civilization in a virtual space using various materials like LEGO blocks. In the US, this game is used as a future learning tool for regular classes. English, science, and design classes are prime examples.

The use of technology is now essential in education as well. I'll never go back to the days of studying with only paper books.

21세기 문맹 인은 읽고 쓸 줄 모르는 사람이 아니라, 새로운 걸 배울 수 없는 사람이다.

▶ An illiterate person in the 21st century is not a person who cannot read or write, but a person who cannot learn anything new.

Our parents are 20th-century people, but they're not our children. Now, instead of just studying with a paper book, I need to learn so that I can spread the knowledge and experience I've learned to the world.

One of these core skills is the ability to use foreign language+ design+ technology. If you can create content through project classes, you will be able to “eat and live” while doing what you love.

English, in particular, is the most important tool for changing lives. Are you still studying English for proficiency? It's not. English is a tool for implementing one's own ideas into reality, and it is effective when combined with the ability to use technology.

In this lesson, parents will learn how to improve children's writing skills through the use of new media technology. You will participate in a project to move away from the education method that stayed in the 20th century and update it to the 21st century. Based on this experience, you will be coached so that you can directly convey new learning methods and attitudes to your child.

[Introduction to the full mission of the class]

Parents play Minecraft building games in English and work with their kids to build the desired building (school, amusement park, water park, zoo, farm, sky park, castle) in the game. Every day, the entire process of completing the building, the reason for building it, and the surrounding environment are recorded in the app with English sentences + screenshots + voice recordings.

Paper by FiftyThree and Book Creator - Book Creator app

Book Creator - bring creativity to your classroom

Explain the various events that occurred while children were playing Minecraft and record them in the Bookcreator app. The contents recorded in this way are gathered and designed in the form of an e-book or a picture vocabulary book, and left as my own work.

The completed document is designed in the form of an e-book, and the child is given a mission to print the book he created on paper and sell it with a price tag attached to it. In this lesson, parents will learn firsthand how to help their child carry out the mission as a coach rather than a teacher or parent, so that the child can carry out the mission.

*IMPORTANT* This lesson is a parent coaching class. It's not a way for children to watch, listen, and follow lessons themselves. It's a way for parents to take classes and do activities with their children.

입체적인 학습을 위한 4가지 필수 요소

▶ 4 essential elements for three-dimensional learning

Why is it necessary to educate mothers in the 21st century?

When children are young, they first develop within the framework of their parents' abilities. Unlike their parents, my kids are 21st-century students, but their parents are from the 20th century. Currently, most parents' education methods have stayed in the 20th century. If you teach children in the 20th century way, children will also stay in that era.

This is the biggest problem in education right now.

“21st century students are taught in a 19th century environment by a 20th century teacher.”

Actually, it's not difficult. Using English and technology is easy. There are more things you can't do because you don't know, and it's a level that anyone can do if they try. Once you have experienced it, you will be able to do it more proficiently from the second third time. I'm just afraid of the beginning.

I will start with something that is easy and useful. I hope you will participate in a project to update Korean education, which has remained in the 20th century, to the 21st century. Just showing challenging parents makes you and your child grow.

Trust it. The effects of learning using media are clear. The results revealed through research at elementary schools in California, USA, tell us why we should learn 21st-century teaching methods. Students who used new media technology achieved a learning effect that was at least 3 times and up to 6 times higher than students who studied in traditional ways.

Why should I use this class to learn about this topic?

There is a clear difference between 21st century mom's mark English and 20th century mom's mark English. Can new media technology be used for learning? So can technology that increases productivity by more than four times each year be applied to learning?

Since this class is aimed mainly at “parents” with beginner children from all over the country, I will explain it in a simple and detailed manner. “This is my house. I used wood blocks.” If you can use the degree, challenge yourself. Reading, listening, and using new media technologies such as video games to make learning more fun and easier to learn vocabulary and grammar.

Check out the reviews that our students, not me, have been doing classes on the same topic at our school.

I began related research at New York University in 2012, and since 2015 I have specialized in project classes using media technology in Daechi-dong. I took this opportunity to share what I had been studying and implementing the method with 10 researchers and teachers for 8 years while teaching 200 students in Daechi-dong.
