Skills You’ll Learn
I've been making patchwork since I was 20 years old, but when I saw a Hawaiian quilt I saw at a Hawaiian hotel I visited with my family, I was attracted to its generosity, so I started doing Hawaiian quilts.
At that time, there were no people doing Hawaiian quilts in Japan, and it was something I couldn't see very often in Hawaii. I think there was also a connection with the fact that they were originally born in Hawaii.
Learn all about Hawaiian quilts from a Hawaiian quilt expert!
While sewing and shaping motifs such as hibiscus, plumeria, dolphins, palm trees, etc., you will learn not only the origin of Hawaiian quilts, but also how to sew motifs. I will create each work one by one using a pre-cut kit so that even beginners can easily make quilts.
This is Kathy Nakajima's own lesson, so I'll slowly explain the difficult parts and tell you the techniques that beginners should definitely learn!
Let's complete the work while enjoying Cathy Nakajima's original designs!
By adding Kathy Nakajima's original design to a motif familiar from Hawaiian quilts, the result is a wonderful design like no other. The content can be enjoyed by a wide range of people, not only beginners, but also experienced people.
Immerse yourself in the charm of Hawaiian quilts with Kathy Nakajima!
What I put the most effort into planning this class was thinking about a work I could always finish so I wouldn't get frustrated along the way. I want to teach you carefully so that you can properly master basic techniques, so I recommend it not only to first-time users, but also to experienced people who are learning in their own way.
If you have cloth, needles, a love for nature, and an attitude of “let's enjoy quilting,” anyone will be able to create cute works. Why don't you enjoy the feeling of going out while staying at home?
Let's have fun with Kathy Nakajima and finish off her Hawaiian quilt work in a wonderful way!
