Let's draw a girl character full of flowers and light with transparent watercolors

Why don't you draw character illustrations that appear in a mysterious world, such as light and water, with attractive light and shade?

This class is recommended for those who want to brush up on how to handle transparent watercolors[Watercolor illustrations that create a sharp painting expression while having a sense of unity]This is a course to learn.

“The overall sense of unity and the way light is applied doesn't work well”

“I can't handle watercolors the way I want them to, and they don't have enough sharpness”

Aren't you worried about that?

This class is for basic and intermediate levels, and the curriculum is designed so that beginners can learn from the basics, and those who have touched watercolor can create works more as imagined.

Midoriyama Hayato's characteristic 1: whitewash and undercoat

Transparent watercolor is an interesting art material that expands the range of expression due to the beauty of the chance of bleeding and layering. There are various ways of expression, and the atmosphere is different for each artist, which is interesting.

In this class,Basic application method that leaves a white finishfrom,How to apply an undercoat using a mist,White removal without maskingI will give a lecture on how to apply light, bubbles, drops, etc.

Midoriyama Hayato's characteristic 2: Impressive works that make use of light, flowers, etc.

I aim to draw flowers, light, and girls in a way that conveys emotions and temperatures, such as sadness, loneliness, warmth, and softness.

We have created a curriculum where you can learn step by step how to paint that makes use of the smudges characteristic of transparent watercolors, sharpness created by painting over and over, and creating works that leave an impression by making use of light and flowers.

In the curriculum of drawing from line drawings, it is possible to challenge yourself with a relatively simple composition so as not to get frustrated along the way.

Also, for those who have difficulty drawing lines and can't draw well, we have prepared line drawings for all illustrations. Don't worry, you can challenge yourself even after painting.

Midoriyama Hayato's characteristics 3: character illustrations “Girl in Wonderland” and “Girl with Water Jellyfish”

In class, we will draw illustrations of popular characters.

You can also challenge the work you draw as a culmination at the end of the class, starting with a line drawing. For those who find it difficult to draw line drawings, the kit comes with line drawings so that they can start with painting.Try drawing a character illustration of Midoriyama's Hayato World with Holbein's transparent watercolor “Midoriyama Hayato Select 12 Color Set”.

Feel a steady level up

As you create works according to the curriculum, you should be able to feel that little by little, you will surely improve your level. I want you to experience the joy of growing up, such as “being able to draw things you couldn't draw” and “you can paint places you couldn't paint well before you know it.”

I will give a lecture carefully, using all the words and brushwork so that no one misses it. I think it would be great if you could experience the fun of transparent watercolor and add it as an essence of creating your own work.

[Creator Interview]

Q. How did you start painting with transparent watercolors?

A. I started transparent watercolor because I wanted to paint colors with fan art! When I thought, I lived in the countryside at the time, so there was no art supply store, so I used it at school

It started when I had a transparent watercolor version at hand. I don't think watercolor is this deep...!

I enjoyed drawing fan art etc. as a hobby because I don't have a sense or appeal, and I enjoyed drawing fan art etc. as a hobby, but due to a certain relationship, I was asked to make leaflets for live events, and I realized that there are people who find value in my own paintings, and it was an opportunity for me to start working as an artist.

Q. Why did you offer online classes with CLASS101?

A. I have held one-off workshops several times, but I felt that there was a limit to creating while explaining to multiple people at once in a limited amount of time. There was also talk of regular events, but that was also difficult due to the COVID-19 pandemic... I think the main reason is that I was fascinated by the fact that you can learn by watching videos online over and over again, that you have time to carefully face the work, and that you can answer questions and give feedback instead of just playing videos.

Q. Please give a message to the students!

A. As you create works according to the curriculum, I have designed it so that you can feel that you will surely level up little by little, so I hope you will experience the joy of growing up, such as “being able to draw things you couldn't draw” and “you can paint places that you can't paint well before you know it.”Clear watercolors are great!
