Tohgu Takumi
Born in 1982 in Kanagawa, Tohgu Takumi began Japanese calligraphy at the age of 5. He received the Chairman's Award while attending Kanagawa Kenritsu Shinjo High School. When he was a student at Tokyo Gakugei University of Arts and Sciences, he majored in the Department of Japanese Calligraphy learning calligraphy in earnest.
After graduating from university, he held a solo calligraphy exhibition in Ginza, Tokyo studying at Tokyo University of the Arts.
After that, in 2009, he opened a calligraphy class for adults, “Togu Takumi's Japanese Calligraphy Class" in Ginza. As the number of students increased, they moved to their current location in Ginza 4 Chome, with a much larger space.
With years of calligraphy experience spanning over 25 years and developing reliable skills, he is trying to give careful and easy-to-understand instruction so that beginners can enjoy calligraphy and pen writing.
