Hello, I'm Lee Jiwon from Studio Rap Deep.

I like making things by hand and started learning leather crafts, and I've been running a workshop in Seochon for over 7 years now.

This is the production process for “Saddlebag,” which is one of the six completed works.

1. First, I place a pattern on the leather for tailoring.

2. The pattern is carefully placed without any waste, and the cut line is drawn along the pattern using an awl.

3. And the Foundation!

4. I'm going to clean up the cut leather by cutting the cross section with a tool called “Edge Veveller”!

5. It's time to bond. It is thin and has a small area, and only minimal bonding is applied, and then the children who will join them are well dried and pasted.

6. I'll draw guidelines with a creaser (or divider) to break through the neck.

7. Focus your mind, set the wooden table vertically, and carefully pierce the needle path.

8. As I learn saddle stitch and sew, I gradually get closer to completion:)

9. Finally, I'll dye the single side, apply a single-sided finishing agent called toconol, and use a slicker to make the corners sparkle!
