Service English conversation taught by experts

Many service workers who had to deal with foreign customers I met had the following concerns.

✅ There are no respectful comments or half-words in English, so do I only need to use meaning?

✅ Ask the customer “What do you want?” I wonder if I can ask?

✅ In Korea, you can just say “customer,” but how should I call this long name?

✅ You think “You're welcome” might be awkward as an answer to “Thank you”?

Also, there were many people who had the experience of getting upset because they didn't know how to deal with an angry foreign customer.

I'm afraid to talk to a friendly foreigner, but I'm a foreigner who came here to pick them up!

When this happens, the wrong tone and choice of words can add fuel to a disgruntled house.

Since they only learn gentle English expressions in Korea, it is often difficult to know what to say in a courteous manner when customers make unreasonable demands or start screaming.

These are the problems I experienced when I actually encountered them in the field.

That's when I thought about it.

“If I had learned some of the words I use in this case in advance

My life would have been easier... '

So I prepared it. Service English conversation!

Of course, I think the most important thing about service is “sincerity,” which breaks down language barriers.

In particular, it is said that a smile is a universal language.

However, when I first dealt with guests in English at Disney World in the US when I was a college student, there were some upsetting moments I sometimes faced.

It was a time when my partner couldn't understand my sincerity because of my lack of expressiveness.

There were times when my partner misunderstood the idea I wanted to convey because it came out as an unrefined expression.

Also, rather than proudly asking them to speak again when they don't understand what the other person is saying well

I'm not alone in the experience of nodding while smiling and pretending to understand, right?

All you need to know is the main pattern of service English!

First of all, I want to instill confidence in those who want to provide services in English through my classes.

There are many expressions that can be written in a big way if you only know the pattern.

I'll make beautiful vessels one by one that can better capture your sincerity.

With various episodes and role-playing

I'll show you an easy and fun service in English!

When I was in college, I had no experience studying languages or studying abroad, except for an internship in the US for about 6 months.

So when I graduated from college and started working in the guest service department of an American cruise ship company, I had a really hard time learning English expressions through hands-on encounters.

At first, the guests understood no matter how I said it, so I thought, “If you do it this way, you'll do a good job.”

But one day I was working with my American and English colleagues, and these friends Even if they say the same thing, they look much more professional.

Why was that?

📢 [Actual situation 1] A guest came to exchange a $100 bill for change.

- Me: (smiling kindly) Um... do you want $10?

- American colleague: How would you like your money?

In other words, “How can I change money?” instead of asking

“Do you need ten dollars?” That's how it came!

📢 [Actual situation 2] Other guests wonder who the famous Australian movie star A checked in with.

- Me: (Perplexed) Oh... sorry, I can't tell you that.. it's personal.

- American colleague: (Force outpouring) I am sorry, I can't say any personal information of concern.

While watching native speakers who express themselves neatly even in the same context

ah! I felt like I had to say something like that.

From then on, my colleagues who are native English speakers began to practice listening intently and intently when talking to customers, and then applying those expressions as soon as guests came.

While working on a global stage, I was greedy to be a “professional employee” rather than just a “friendly Korean.”

As a result, I was able to become a concierge dedicated to VIP services less than a year after joining the company.

'Is it right to say this in this situation? 😨

“Did you sound unconfident or rude?” 😥

We provide services and are prepared for all of you who have been dealing with various situations without confidence or with confusion.
